Plastics are a main construction component of proximity switches. According to the operating conditions, the choosen material has to be tested in regard to its oil resistance. An overview about the most important materials of Pulsotronic sensors is shown under "material selection".
The distance between light transmitter and light receiver resp. between reflective light barrier and reflector in which the perfect industrial conditions are guaranteed is the operation range. The operating range always contains a performance reserve.
The minimum usable switching distance is called operating sensing distance Sa. This is the distance assumed as reliable sensing distance for practical use under consideration of all possible tolerances.
The operating voltage defines the permitted voltage range (including ripple) by guaranteeing a secure operation of the device.
Oppositely assembling of several standard sensors leads to a mutual influence of the alternating fields. Because of this, the operator has to take care of installation conditions and minimum distances (see also: Flush mounting/ Non-flush mounting). For specific applications, Pulsotronic offers sensors which can be mounted oppositely. In these cases, the mutual influence is eleminated by special adjustment of the alternating fields.
Sensors of Pulsotronic have an electronic protection against voltage peaks on the connection cable (impulse voltage in regard to IEC 60947-5-2)
